Wow!
Whatta night!
Every year I invite in the Solstice with my friends and family at the Shimmy Showcase. It is my way of performing the rites of the season to honor the blessings and abundance of my seeds planted earlier in the sprintime thaw. I usually know that the show will rock hard but last night.....

My expectations were dashed on the rocks of excellence and raised even higher! The lovely ladies of Talisman Dance company from the far reaches of San Diego blew our minds. The grace, energy and sensual yumminess touched us all. Fierce brought in such power and never seems to disappoint. Her partner for the evening, Elizabeth is a powerhouse of lightness and joy. We all were blessed to have them both at their debut at the Shimmy Showcase

.Airleah nearly hovered with her light and lovely interpretations of two fine classics; She also was surprised by a birthday cake that magically appeared at the end of the evening.

Finally, but most certainly not the least in my heart and mind this morning, my students performed not one, not two, not three but FOUR times to delight us all. The duet between Candacee and Tamara was clean crisp and well put together <without my assistance, I might add!> The trio with Annette, Jenivive and myself was so much fun but the biggest blast of the evening was when we all took the carpets and danced ensemble! 7 dancers in all, the largest group I have ever danced with in the little Coffee Haven and boy did we fill up the room!

Needless to say, last night will live long in my mind. Thanks to Cipperly, Candace, Tamara, Jen, Annette and Jewelles, you are all so precious to me. Additionally, I cannot begin to express my thanks and gratitude to the ladies and gentlemen who have been a support to us all. Thank you Eric for being the kind of Emcee a girl dreams of..... And Kevin...well without you we'd be dancing in the streets!
